Jose Ravelo, NYC´s Urbanscape Photographer

Jose Ravelo, photographer living in NYC who I define as optimism. So your shots exude life and energy that a city like NY distilled through the streets. View your photos is transport you to a wonderful city.
The sight of his Urbanscape is colorful, striking and I would describe it as "eighties". This photograph of POP cut, full of color stands out a tendency to capture the cities as places gloomy, sad.
If the goal of every photographer is to find your own style Jose Ravelo has got, your picture may like or not, but it is personal in style. Ravelo and his particular style I personally love.

My favorite 50mm ¿which one? / Mi favorito 50mm ¿cual comprar?

50 mm very usefull lens / 50mm lente muy versátil

If there is a goal that every photographer should have in their backpack at least at some stage of their "photographic life" that is a 50mm.
In my case, the objective has given me more satisfaction has been a 50mm. The satisfaction does not have to be accompanied by a greater number of photos, talk about feelings.

All fixed lens makes you develop your photographic vision more. With no other objectives zoom composition depends on us making the most.

Antonio Atienza: Fotografía & Conservación

Photographer who stars in this entry is recognized internationally and is one of the spearheads of nature photography in Spain.

I could fill lines listing presentations, courses, publications, articles, interviews ... for those who still do not know is an idea, but I prefer to simply list three names that Antonio has worked: National Geographyc, BBC and Survival. I do not think it takes more references to get an idea of its weight within the panorama of nature photography.

The backlight / El contraluz

The backlight is one of the resources that I like to experiment on my street photography.

Technically easy, simply underexpose between 1 and 2 points.

I think the same can be further isolate the subject within the scene of the city. No I mean the concept of isolation in the physical sense (although often present) but in the way in which the subject is separated from its identity becoming an enigma. The suggest that mood and attitude of the person leaves it to our mind to interpret the scene.

I think that freedom takes bring interest because it allows the viewer to make several viewings to fit capture the emotions provoked.

In the picture that heads this post, there is no clear whether the person walks into the grand avenue or coming from it. Flees? Something? You going deep in thought? In any case no identity between the major structures of the city.

In the next shot, looking further accentuate the feeling that we all lose part of our identity in the cities where we remain shadows on his night. To do this takes it down the speed so that the silhouette remained not so definite. The city also is very dark which reinforces the feeling of big city that surrounds people to annul them.

Bruce Gilden "My photography is who I am" / Bruce Gilden "Mis fotos soy yo"

Best Street Photography´s lens?

As I said in some of the entries in this blog, in photography, as in other aspects of life, there are a number of principles that are taken by some as absolute truth.

In Street Photography, one of those principles is to approach the subject as much as possible and therefore use objectives of a few millimeters.

The classic choices in this regard are a 35mm or 50mm (or equivalent depending on the sensor) and optionally the traditional 28mm more angular.

Jorge Castejón: fotografía creativa / Jorge Castejón: creative photography

The star of today's interview is one of those photographers that reflect as any reality is always liable to be photographed from a new point of view.

Create spectacular photos is much easier in large photographic locations, getting a different photo in less spectacular environments with the premise the save as superfluous element in the frame is available to very few. One of those few is Jorge Castejón, photographer formed in analog photography to digital step which has not only been traumatic as in other cases, but reinforced their particular style. Jorge is a clear example of "less is more".

Your photo has as main reasons architectural details and abstract forms. How did you develop this unique photographic vision? Started practicing another discipline?

Reasons you shouldn´t buy a X-Pro1, X-e1 or X-M1 / ¿Por que NO debes comprar una X-Pro1, X-E1 or X-M1

After more than five months since my dslr exchange for a "traditional" to the mount Fuji X  classified as a csc "pseudo-telemetry" I have a criterion formed on my new gear.

There are many queries that come to me through twitter and facebook private about a possible similar changes I made. Or the suitability of buying an X-Pro1 X-E1 or as a second body and thus test and changed if this mount.

So then I list that should NOT buy a X series camera and the reasons why you must.
