How to improve you Street Photography pics / Trucos para comenzar con la Street Photo

A few days ago we mentioned in this blog the fears that you can feel and impede progress in the discipline of Street Photo.

Rationalizing the same saw that was quite difficult objectively any of them come true.

But one thing is another theory and practice without a doubt the best way to overcome this fear is to practice. I know it is not easy, in fact in my workshops Street Photo is working to overcome these fears and it takes more than just reading lines.

Here are some tips and exercises to overcome this fear.

Be nice and smile, because you're going to interact with strangers a smile, a friendly face will facilitate everything. In this way instinctively stop being a threat. One of the fears of those pictures is to use these photographs for something bad. A smiling person is less likely to transmit the feeling of being a teaser (or worse) to use your photo for "dark" purposes.

Start with the easiest, go out and shoot from a distance. So you began to observe the behavior of people, which will help you understand how you should move to get good pictures and develop your photographic eye.

Walk, walk and walk. It must be in the street to photograph the street. Also will help you learn about aspects of your city do not even know.

Do not draw attention. Less is more. Do not go announcing that you're a photographer. Dress as a tourist. Nobody pays attention to what a tourist photograph.

Start asking permission. A good way to lose your fear is to perch. Come to a person the impression that you would be willing to do this, this category does not include our friend of the two swords and the big knife (commentary dedicated to one of my readers ;-)). You'll be surprised what a little education and a wide smile can get. Do not despair if they say NO. Consistency is essential.

Shot from the hip. You bring the camera focused and holding the camera shooting from the hip. If you don´t put the camera to your eye they do not feel you're taking a photo. Personally I do not like this practice because the control on the frame is minimal.

These practices will help you take your first steps in this discipline, but the best advice is do not despair

No desesperes si te dicen NO.
